These adorable pandas were my 1st rainbow loom project! I started making my 1st one in black and white and I realised how quick and easy it was, so I decided to make another two more in different colour combinations. Never know crochet hooks can be used for other purposes such as this and I have to say I was very fascinated to see these fancy coloured rubber bands transformed into cute animals infront of my very eyes. ![]() I just enjoy making and building things with my own hands! :) If you’re doing it together with your children, then that’s a different story. My Dad saw me weaving rubber bands onto my plastic pegs and started commenting that these are for little kids! *laughs* “I know Dad.” To a certain extent, I do feel I am a little too old to pick up rainbow looming. I will share the links below towards the end of this post. I spent last weekend making a few of these super cute animal charms with the aid of some amazing YouTube Tutorials. I am a sucker for animals and cute little things so the animal charms I found on the internet were the first thing that caught my eye instead of the usual fancy pretty bracelets. Before I knew it, I had “fallen prey to” them and bought a set on impulse. It was too difficult not to give my attention to those colourful boxes. While doing my yarn shopping at a local crafts store 2 weeks ago, I saw this huge stack of rainbow looms just beside the crafts store’s main entrance. This brilliant invention soon became one of the latest craze across the globe, especially among the younger generation. I have never imagined myself hopping onto this bandwagon and getting myself hooked to this rainbow loom craze. Who would have thought we could create adorable animal charms using rubber bands?! Well, a genius did! Cheong Choon Ng the brains behind Rainbow Loom came out with this concept of using a plastic pegboard and crochet hook to weave colourful rubber bands into bracelets and charms. ![]()
